An official welcome to the new Junior Cricket season! I trust everyone is keeping warm and enjoying the Winter sport season. Thankfully only a couple of weeks have been lost due to COVID and the kids are getting the chance to have fun and get active with their friends!

A relatively quick one from me given there will be a newsletter coming out this week, but it’s pleasing that we’ve already had some enquiries about the new season, so as always thank you for your positive word of mouth. It’s truly the greatest recruiting tool that we in ensuring that our junior program remains what it is.

Pre-Season Training
Pre-season training is locked in. We commence on August 15th and run every Sunday until Sunday 26th until we revert to the traditional weekday training.

Note the change in location of pre-season training:
Saxon Sports
Unit 7, Unit 7/37-51 Lusher Rd, Croydon VIC 3136

Times and age groups are:
12pm – 1pm: U10s, U12 Girls, U14 Girls, U16 Girls
1pm – 2pm: U12s, U14s, U16s
These time allocations may change based on registrations per age group to ensure enough indoor centre space for all age groups, but if it does, we’ll make the decision at least 2 weeks out.

Saxon Sports
Saxon Sports are our new cricket supporter. Their facilities are elite and I believe you will all be delighted with the move. We do ask that you support them for your cricketing needs and for those that engaging private coaching or personal fitness for their child, they have a wide range of professional coaches across all different skillsets of cricket.

Recruiting Flyer
Our flyer will go on our website, Facebook and Instagram tomorrow – it’s also attached to this teamapp. Please download and share to your family and friends, it’s greatly appreciated :) The flyer will hopefully hit school newsletters this week as well.

Online Registration
Registration is up online. To register please visit playcricket.com.au and search for St Andrews (RDCA) or 3152 and follow the prompts. Similar to last season, if you are receiving a discount for an additional child, please register all children as usual and we’ll be in touch about organising the rebate. If you come across any issues with registration please let me know.

Importance of Online Registration
If your child is definitely playing this season, we do ask that you register before our first training on 15th August or by 22nd August at the latest. This is to ensure we order the correct size playing shirt and number on the back of the shirt for your child. Our merchandise order will go out on Monday 23rd August, so please ensure you register early to avoid running the risk of us ordering the wrong size shirt or your child not getting the number they want on the back.

If your child is unsure about playing please get in touch (standrewscc.jnr@gmail.com) and we’ll ensure an order goes out as there will always be late registrations that we can use their shirt for if they ultimately decide not to play.

Great to be back and on behalf of the committee, we cannot wait to see everyone soon, both returning and new Saints :)
